In a typical year, at this time we would be looking forward to gathering in May for our signature event, IMAGINE. At that time, I would be able to say “thank you” in person and share the critical work conducted through FCA’s programs and delivered by our dedicated staff. Together we would watch an inspiring video highlighting a story of one of our incredible clients and celebrate a year of service to our community.
But this has not been a typical year and, unfortunately, we will have to wait a bit longer before we can be together in person.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause serious challenges. Our clients are facing food insecurity at higher rates than ever before. Struggles with unemployment have led to more stress in the home. Remote learning has come with additional challenges as having internet access is now mandatory. Seniors in our Home Care program continue to face isolation and concerns for their health. The need for our services is even more critical than ever. And, postponing our event once again leaves us with an even larger financial gap to fill.
I am grateful for the generosity our supporters have continued to show during this incredibly difficult time, but I must ask for help once again. As the needs in our community continue to be many, FCA staff remain nimble and ready to take on the challenge. We can’t, however, do it alone.
Your support can provide healthy food boxes for clients, deliver much needed emotional support through telehealth visits, help students in our ASPIRE after-school program with daily virtual tutoring as well as extracurricular activities like cooking and chess, and allow for training and personal protective equipment for our caregivers so they remain healthy when delivering care to seniors.
I look forward to when we can be together in person and am optimistic that day is not too far in the future. In the meantime, thank you for supporting FCA at this critical time. Your gift of any amount will truly make a difference.
