Volunteer Appreciation: Meet Jon

Apr 22, 2017 | Volunteers

Meet Jon. Jon has been a Family & Children’s Agency supporter and volunteer for more than three years. He connected with FCA through a friend of the Agency’s President & CEO, Robert Cashel, after a conversation about local volunteer opportunities. His background in accounting made for an easy connection to the Agency’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which offers free tax preparation for families based on income.

“I don’t feel like I am the spokesperson for volunteering,” Jon said. “But I find a way to make time to do something I am good at and help people where I can,” he says. “The program is fun and I have met some really great people through the work.” Jon and his wife Susan, who joined the FCA Board in 2016, also support the Agency in many other ways.

Through their work with the Agency’s Board, VITA or supporting the ASPIRE after-school program, the Beyman’s look forward to more work and volunteering with the Agency in the coming months. “I do what I can because its satisfying and feels good,” Jon says.

Family & Children’s Agency is fortunate to have many friends like Jon, who trust and value the mission of FCA and volunteer their time to enhance the lives of others.
