Each year, the Connecticut Council of Service Agencies “recognizes individuals from each member agency who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to strengthen and support families in Connecticut.”
This year, two individuals from Family & Children’s Agency were presented with this prestigious award for their hard-work and dedication to Agency initiatives; FCA board member Rita Marber and Jan Glorie, FCA’s Manger of Information Technology.
Rita Marber joined the board of Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) in 2008 and now serves in several leadership roles, including board Secretary for the executive committee. When Rita joined FCA in 2008, she also served as President of Darien’s Children’s Aid and an FCA auxiliary that has raised more than $500,000 for the agency. Rita has worked diligently for FCA on fundraising and friend-raising events, utilizing her expertise in interior design to support the Agency post Hurricane Sandy and hosting “Dinner with Friends” an agency program that brings together homeless Agency clients and board members for an intimate evening dinner.
FCA’s second awardee, Jan Glorie has been a staff member at Family & Children’s Agency for more than 12 years. In 2013, Jan became a part of the integrated team of IT professionals to serve the IT needs of FCA, Family Centers and LifeBridge Community Services, who are all partners in the Fairfield County Information Technology Collaborative (FCITC).
Throughout his years with FCA, Jan has demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment to his work, and because his skills and knowledge are always in great demand, he works tirelessly to respond in a timely and effective way.
Jan is a true “go-to person” for FCA and Rita is always willing to get involved and to bring her work, wealth and wisdom to FCA. We are proud that these individuals represent FCA as 2016 Family Champion Award recipients.
