Family & Children’s Agency Celebrates Foster Care Graduates

Jun 30, 2016 |

High school graduation marks a pivotal time in a child’s life. This accomplishment is the official transition from childhood to adulthood. This year, Family & Children’s Agency honored more than a dozen foster care students for their successful completion of high school—despite the obstacles that have stood in their way.

In an intimate ceremony attended by their families, teachers, counselors and various supporters, the high school seniors listened to success stories from adults who were once in foster care, received certificates for academic success and outstanding achievement and were awarded with “tools for success” care baskets packed with important documents and resources for college success.

Guests enjoyed food, live music and coveted raffle items, from wish lists completed by students. This annual event is a congratulatory event for program teens who are moving out of the foster care system and into independent living.

Hats off to the 2016 FCA Foster Care graduates!
