After School Program

The mission of FCA’s After School Program is to provide a safe and structured community-based after school program for middle school students. Our goal is to improve academic performance, encourage higher learning, and promote healthy peer interactions and lifestyles.

FCA’s After School Program is designed to work with students and their families to become successful both in and out of the classroom.  Dedicated staff and volunteers work with students on academics each day and help them develop goals.  In addition, students participate in enrichment, recreation, and life skills programs throughout the year.  Enrichment activities include theatre, computers, arts, music, culinary arts, and sports.  The weekly life skills component helps students develop critical non-academic skills such as conflict resolution, and learn about a variety of issues such as volunteerism, safety, nutrition, and environmental responsibility.

  • FCA’s After School Program operates from 3:00-5:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays during the school year.  The program is closed during school holidays.
  • The program is open to students from Norwalk’s four middle schools; Nathan Hale, Ponus Ridge, Roton, and West Rocks.  The program serves 25 students each year.
  • The program is located on the campus of Norwalk Community College.  Transportation is provided from each middle school to NCC.  Wheels bus tokens are provided for those families who cannot pick up their child after the program.

Funding for FCA's After School Program comes from the United Way of Norwalk & Wilton and the support of private foundations and individuals.
