Beautiful weather set the stage for success for the 2011 Golf & Tennis Classic to benefit Family & Children’s Agency in Norwalk.  The event raised over $110,000 to support Agency programs that benefit more than 10,000 individuals annually.

Corporate sponsors included McMahon Ford of Norwalk as well as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg Tradebook, cg42, Greenwich Infiniti, HSBC Global Markets, J. P. Salmini Co., Inc., Lexus of Greenwich, Lexus of Mt. Kisco, Louis Capital Markets LP, Macquarie Emerging Markets, Morgan Stanley, Nomura Securities International, Inc., People’s United Bank, UBS, and Weeden & Co. LP.  They were joined by several individual sponsors.

Mark Brown and Paul McErlain of Wilton, along with Mark Lux of Rowayton, chaired the golf tournament.   The People’s United Bank team of Robert Baptist, Lou Giosia, Brian Noccioli, and Robert Wall won the “two best balls of four (net)” contest, while the team sponsored by cg42 in Wilton, including Steve Beck, Brian Crocker, Greg Rosen, and Steve Samuels, won for “two best balls of four (gross).”  Mr. Beck had the longest drive for the day, and Joe Scarfi won for hitting closest to the hole.

Wilton residents Kim Burke and Margret Greene chaired the tennis tournament, in which Nancy Budd and Wendy Corper, also of Wilton, took first and second places, respectively.

“Family & Children’s Agency is truly fortunate to have such a dedicated group of friends who support our work in local communities.  We enjoyed a great day of tennis and golf, and I really appreciate the participation of all our generous sponsors, players, and volunteers who made this event such a success,” commented Robert Cashel, President & CEO of Family & Children’s Agency.
