Homeless Services Programs Overview |
|
Established in 1986, FCA's Homeless Services Programs have established a continuum of care for homeless adults. We have homelessness prevention programs, programs working with adults experiencing homelessness, and supportive housing.
Our program for adults experiencing homelessness begins with the Drop-In Center. It is the first step in engaging people who are homeless in need of treatment and rehabilitation. Clients can "drop in" and talk with a case manager, use the phone, or visit with others seven days a week. Case Management is available to help clients establish and maintain basic essentials for daily living. Some individuals are ready to work with a counselor to develop job-seeking skills or explore employment options with our Vocational Counselors. The Supportive Housing Program provides formerly homeless adults a partnership in an effort to teach skills that they require to maintain housing and independent living with the goal of reduce recidivism of homelessness, hospitalizations due to mental illness, and substance use.
FCA's Homeless Services Programs offer a variety of activities such art and quilting groups, fishing, biking and, most recently, a community gardening initiative with the purpose of cultivating healthy food choices and fostering connections with others and the community.
