Respite Care Program

FCA's Respite Program is designed to give parents a temporary break from parenting, especially in cases where they may be overwhelmed by their child's difficult behavior. A paid mentor takes the children out for various activities on a regular basis for several months while more permanent resources are found. The purpose of the program, which serves about 50 families a year, is to help keep families together and prevent children from being placed out-of-home.

The program is funded by the Department of Children & Families.
