Family & Children’s Agency, a non-profit family service agency, salutes our Foster Care Parents who willingly take children into their homes, often on a moment’s notice, and give them stability, love, and a brighter future.
The Agency currently has 55 children in foster homes from Stratford to Greenwich, including nine children with medically complex needs. We also have 10 more children who are waiting to be placed with families.
Taking in a foster child is a wonderful way to build your family. It takes all types of families to parent children. You may be married, single, or divorced; you may be a seasoned parent or someone who has never parented before; you may rent or own a home; you may be a professional, a laborer or on a fixed income. What matters is your desire to give a child a loving and secure home. For those who choose to work with Family & Children’s Agency as Foster parents, we offer 24/7 support, including weekly home visits, counseling, monthly stipends, and medical coverage for the children.Our foster care placements can extend from one month to 12 years, with the average stay being two years. Each year, four to six children are adopted by their foster families providing them with lifelong ties. Other foster parents and children make a commitment to stay connected even after the placement has ended.
