At FCA, we believe in a "strength-based" approach. Our staff is committed to respecting each unique family situation and to using the strengths and skills that each person brings to the family. Our priorities are the safety of children, and child-centered, family-focused services.
We work closely with the Department of Children & Families (DCF) in all our Family Support Programs, offering: assessment, home-based visitation and support, counseling, education (parenting skills, substance abuse prevention, health caare, budgeting, job skills), assistance with housing, case coordination, and access to community resources. Assistance ranges range from two to six hours per week for three to six months. These intervention programs include:
Intensive Family Preservation (IFP). Crisis intervention for families, available 24-hours per day for an average of 12 weeks. DCF referrals only
Parent Aide. Less intensive home visiting program
Intensive Safety Program (ISP) works with families in their homes on a short-term, intensive basis to stabilize identified safety concerns that have led to the removal of a child or children from the home.
Reconnecting Families Program (RFP) works to bring families back together when possible and offers assistance in stabilizing and strengthening adoptive/foster homes.
