Established in 1986, FCA's Community Connections offers a safe, supportive environment for homeless adults. With its non-structured atmosphere, the Drop-In Center is the first step in engaging people who are homeless in needed treatment and rehabilitation. They can "drop in" and talk with a case manager, use the phone, or visit with others seven days a week.
Community Connections also offers Case Management to help clients obtain and maintain basic essentials for daily living. Some individuals are ready to work with a counselor to explore employment options or develop job-seeking skills. Vocational Counseling is available.
The Art Program at Community Connections is a volunteer-led weekly opportunity for clients to express themselves using a variety of mediums. There is also a quilting group which meets regularly. Program art has been shown and sold in various local venues.
Funding for the Drop-In Center and Case Management services is provided by the Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services, the City of Norwalk, and from private individuals and organizations. Vocational Counseling is funded in part through a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
