FCA's Girls Challenge program is committed to helping girls develop into confident, informed, eager and effective young leaders. The purpose of the program is to help middle-school-aged girls sustain the strength and confidence that girls in this age group already possess.

Girls Challenge is a group of 11 to 14 year-old girls from Norwalk who meet on a weekly basis after school during the academic year. Girls are selected based on recommendations, their ability to commit to the program, and their potential leadership skills. They must also be committed to forging close friendships with other females and working to become the best that they can be. The curriculum centers on leadership development, cultural expression, gender analysis, physical activity and community service.

Girls Challenge is generously funded by the Fairfield County Community Foundation, Fund for Women & Girls.
