Did you know that...
  •  The number of working poor families in Connecticut has doubled in the last ten years?
  •  There are more then 96,000 Connecticut children living in poverty?
  •  Connecticut's investment in affordable housing has fallen from $125 million in 1990 to $5 million in 2000?
  •  Women and children are the fastest growing homeless population in the state?
We need you to join us in the fight for responsible policies and legislation that will support our mission. Have your voice heard! Become an advocate for public policies and programs that will ensure that the needs of Connecticut's families and children will be met.
What you can do to help...
  Join our Action Alert Network
When critical legislation is pending that has an impact on the families and children that we serve, we ask the members of our action alert network to call, write, e-mail, or visit their legislators. Each alert provides facts about the issue, talking points to use when contacting legislators, and the key legislators to contact for each bill.

Voting = Power. When you sit out an election, you lose your power to voice your opinions and concerns. Every vote makes a difference. Contact your town's Registrar of Voters to learn how to register. It is quick and easy! You can find the number in the blue pages of the phone book, or call the Secretary of State toll-free at 1/800.540.3764 (TDD, 800.303.3151).

Contact your Legislators
Legislators want to hear from you! A handful of calls or letters has been known to swing a vote one way or another. Remember that they are in office to represent you, their constituent.
