Emerging Trends In Adoption

In 2005 the Adoption Foundation at FCA was created to support the work of FCA's Adoption Center. Since its inception, the Foundation has met the critical needs of the adoption community by raising and distributing a total of $131,000. That assistance has been in the form of $79,000 in grants and scholarships to help families adopt children, many with special needs, and $52,000 for aid to orphanages in China, Korea, Taiwan and Russia.

In reviewing the current structure, Foundation Board members agreed that FCA's Adoption Center and the adoption field in general has changed dramatically in the last three years. Recognizing the current climate, a plan has been created to continue the Foundation's momentum by integrating its functions into FCA.

FCA's Adoption Center's leadership staff is working to develop an Adoption Support and Advisory Committee which will play a vital role in providing guidance and support to the Adoption community.

FCA is grateful to the members of the Foundation Board who have provided their time, talents and passion to furthering the mission of adoption and FCA.
