A Comprehensive Therapeutic Program Helping Pregnant and Parenting Women Remain Clean and Sober
Project REWARD (Rehabilitation Effort for Women Actively Resisting Drugs) is the only program of its kind in southern Fairfield County, providing day treatment and outpatient services for pregnant and/or parenting women.

Research shows that women who participate in treatment programs which include a structured program for their children have better outcomes. Therefore, Project REWARD offers childcare and assessment for participants' infant and preschool aged children in The Rainbow Room. A Child Development Specialist works with both mothers and children.

The program is located in South Norwalk and runs four days each week. Transportation for participants and their children to and from the program is provided.

To allow for individualized treatment plans, Project REWARD incorporates a flexible treatment schedule with three different levels of care:

Early intervention and outreach
focuses on outreach and engagement for clients who are actively abusing drugs or alcohol. Intensive Out-Patient (IOP)
is for clients who are committed to recovery, and they work on the life skills needed to succeed in that process.

Out-Patient Services
incorporate one or two groups and/or one individual session a week to help the client maintain and monitor her recovery.
Through these flexible levels of care, Project REWARD offers comprehensive services:
  •  Evaluation, Assessment and Case Management
  •  Therapy: Individual, Family, Group and Couples
  •  Education: Twelve-Step, Drug, Health, Nutrition, Parenting, Life Skills, Stress Management, Work Readiness, Anger Management
  •  Child Development Program through The Rainbow Room
  •  Home Visits
  •  Weekend Preparation and Review
  •  Referrals to Other Services
Project REWARD is a collaboration between FCA and Connecticut Renaissance, Inc. Both programs are accredited and licensed. Project REWARD is made possible by grants from The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), the United Way, and private sources. Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance reimbursements are accepted.
