Family & Children’s Agency Awards the 2012 Family Strengthening Award
The Connecticut Council of Family & Service Agencies (CCSFSA) President and CEO Daniel O’Connell was awarded Family & Children’s Agency’s 2012 Family Strengthening Award at its Board of Directors meeting December 3. CCFSA is a statewide network of private nonprofit family service agencies. CCFSA’s mission is to strengthen Connecticut’s families toward unprecedented growth through services for divorcing parents, high conflict couples, and low-income families currently or formerly on state assistance.
“During Dan’s tenure as President and CEO of CCFSA, he has guided the organization toward unprecedented growth in services that benefit the clients of member agencies such as Family & Children’s Agency,” said Robert F. Cashel, President & CEO of Family & Children’s Agency. “Dan has provided sound counsel and consistent support to Family & Children’s Agency.”
Based in Wethersfield, Connecticut, CCFSA has a strong presence in the greater Hartford region and Dan has been a highly respected spokesman for families in Hartford and is highly effective in advocating for legislation that benefits Connecticut’s families. Dan recently announced his plan to retire in March 2013.
CCFSA is a statewide network of seventeen independent, nonprofit, family service agencies that deliver services to over 150,000 families annually from more than 100 sites located throughout Connecticut. The mission of the Council is to be the premier resource to the strengthen Connecticut’s diverse individuals and families, and the communities in which they live.
The Family Strengthening Award at Family & Children’s Agency recognizes and celebrates individuals or organizations in the community whose outstanding contributions have dramatically impacted Family & Children’s Agency’s ability to strengthen and stabilize families and offer help in all phases of life.
